What is the Hawai'i Songwriting Festival?
We put on a number of concerts, open mic nights, and networking events throughout the year, but our main event is the Hawai'i Songwriting Festival ("HSF") music conference that takes place over three days each summer. The conference is a celebration of the art & craft of songwriting, with an emphasis on collaboration, education, and music for film/TV. Songwriters of all levels from all walks of life come together to connect with each other and music professionals from Hawai'i, the mainland, and beyond. Whether you are a beginning songwriter or an experienced writer with multiple sync placements and publishing deal, at the Hawai'i Songwriting Festival you will learn a ton, expand your network, and get your creative batteries charged up!
The Hawai'i Songwriting Festival is unique from other music conferences because its small size and the relaxed island atmosphere create an intimate experience where amateurs, professionals, and everyone in between can develop meaningful relationships through the one thing that unites us all: music.

Through songwriting workshops, seminars, small group sessions, panels, speed mentoring meetings, and nightly open mic, we provide real, meaningful access to professional songwriters, producers, musicians, film and TV music supervisors, production library owners, music publishers, attorneys, music business consultants, and more. Each person is handpicked to join our staff because they are passionate about giving back to the songwriting community, they are excited to share their knowledge with others, and they are eager to connect with you!
